Beware What Stalks You In The Swamp

I find inspiration for these posts from a variety of different places. Some are topics I have grown up hearing about. Some are suggested by y’all. Some are things that I come across while researching other topics. And then sometimes I get inspiration from television shows which is how one of today’s topic came about. I didn’t know about the first creature until I was watching the television show, Supernatural (yes this is still my favorite television show). In season four, episode four a rougarou was mentioned. As soon as I heard the word, I was intrigued. Since then I have been trying to learn more about this interesting urban legend. Researching the rougarou lead me to learning about the second topic of today’s post, the Honey Island Swamp Monster. Continue reading Beware What Stalks You In The Swamp

Where The Devils Roams

Before we jump into this post I would just like to announce that this is my 200th post on here!!! I will probably be celebrating with goldfish crackers with my dog, John Paul Jones because that is our snack of choice when I sit down to write since I have a lot more writing and researching ahead of me today. It’s been a bit since we have talked about cryptids on this blog. Thankfully New Hampshire has two for us to check out today. I hadn’t heard about either of these until I was trying to find topics to write about for this week’s theme. If you have heard of either of these cryptids, let me know.  Continue reading Where The Devils Roams

What Lurks Beneath The Surface?

One of the things that draws me so much to Oregon is the natural beauty that can be found through out the state. There are so many places to go hiking, canoeing, and camping. One of the places that I have been wanting to go check out is an ominously named lake called Devil’s Lake. While it’s stunningly beautiful is all the beauty actually hiding a monster?  Continue reading What Lurks Beneath The Surface?

Exploring Springdale Cemetery

While researching the previous post, I was introduced to Springdale Cemetery. Springdale Cemetery is a very large, very old cemetery about 20 minutes from where we are staying. Jeremy went with John Paul and I to check out it while we were looking for Dr. George Zeller’s grave for the previous post on this blog and we were not ready for this cemetery at all. Even with directions to the gravesite, it took us over 10 minutes to drive to where he was buried.  Continue reading Exploring Springdale Cemetery

Hunting For New Adventures With Elizabeth

One day while searching through local points of interests, I was surprised to see that there is a paranormal museum a couple of hours from my mom’s house. I had to go see it. Jeremy and I decided to go check it out earlier this week. The museum is located in Littleton, North Carolina which is about 1hour 40 minutes from Mom’s house. Since they advertised haunted dolls on their website, Jeremy and I decide to take Elizabeth, our haunted doll, with us to see if she would interact with them. Continue reading Hunting For New Adventures With Elizabeth

Beware What Stalks The Woods…

It seems like everywhere I turn lately (especially places like TikTok and Facebook), someone is talking about Wendigo or Skinwalkers. While similar and often confused to be the same thing, they are actually two different Native American folklore. I will devote a post diving into what a Skinwalker for a later date. Today’s post is all about Wendigoes and their lore. Mainly because Jeremy and I may have encountered one a few weeks ago.  Continue reading Beware What Stalks The Woods…
