This Community Is Haunted By It’s Past

This week are checking out a couple of interesting locations in Kentucky! Kentucky is a great state but I have only driven through it. I have never visited there unfortunately. Today’s post is about a military camp that use to operate in Louisville, Kentucky. That camp was called Camp Zachary Taylor.  Continue reading This Community Is Haunted By It’s Past

Walking In Their Ghostly Footsteps

When I go to historic location, I love to imagine what life was like when that building was built. Who passed through those halls, what conversations were spoken aloud in the rooms, etc? There is a place in Louisiana where the past is still walking the halls and chatting in the rooms. I wonder if the spirits at the Old State Capitol people watch the visitors or talk about the workers? Continue reading Walking In Their Ghostly Footsteps

Historically Haunted

I don’t know about you but growing up one of my favorite elementary school memories was when we were lead down to the computer lab to play Oregon Trail. While research haunted location in Wyoming, I was surprised to see a location that I remember from the game come across my list of places to look into. How many of y’all remember taking a rest at Fort Laramie in the game? Continue reading Historically Haunted

Don’t Mess With The Devil’s Mustang!

This creepy Puerto Rican location comes from the town of Mayagüez. The house that is the center of today’s topic certainly looks creepy if you were to walk past it… even in the day light. It has clearly been abandoned for a long time. The walls are crumbling and becoming overgrown with plants and vines. But sitting quietly in the garage or car port area of the house is a classic mustang car that has also been abandoned by everyone except the spirits that roam the house and possibly the Devil. Welcome to the Casa del Mustang! Continue reading Don’t Mess With The Devil’s Mustang!

Duty Can Be Hell Here

This week on the blog we are talking about some spooky locations in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is a gorgeous place that I would love to go visit some day. The sites are so colorful, the people seem so nice and caring, and the food is amazing. One day, I will go there. While researching Puerto Rico, one place kept popping up over and over again on places that are throughly creepy. So let me introduce you to Castillo San Felipe del Murro which is often just called El Murro.  Continue reading Duty Can Be Hell Here

The Attack Hasn’t Ended For Some Of These Spirits

I will be completely honest with you. I don’t know much about Pearl Harbor, why it happened, what exactly happened, etc.. My history classes really didn’t teach us much about either of the World Wars. What I do know I have picked up from history programming, museums, what my parents and grandparents have taught me, and living in Japan. The base we lived on in Iwakuni was where the Pearl Harbor attack was planned and one of the reason the United States acquired that base after the war ended. I have been up to the room (known on base as The Crow’s Nest) where the attack was actually planned. I wanted to do an investigation up there but the base wouldn’t allow it. One of the many ships that was involved in the attack on Pearl Harbor was the USS Arizona and even though it is now underwater, it is very haunted. This Week’s Theme: Hawaii

This week I will be discussing another state that hasn’t really been mentioned too much on this blog before but it is one that has been highly suggested. This week we will be checking out two locations in Hawaii! I hope to one day be able to visit Hawaii or maybe even live out there if the military allows us. Speaking of the military, the only time I have mentioned Hawaii on this blog is on the post where military members and their spouses shared their stories of haunted bases they were at. Manifesting My Dreams And Minding My Business

The cover image isn’t my artwork (I wish I knew who drew it so I could give them credit) but it captured what I have been feeling for the past few weeks. I was talking to my mom last night about how life rarely goes as we plan and for once it wasn’t because the military decided to make changes for us again. When we were starting our move out here, I had planned to just do as have been doing- being a blogger and a housewife but now that we are out here and I’m seeing all the options available to us, I don’t want just that.  Continue reading Manifesting My Dreams And Minding My Business

A Splashing Good Weekend

This weekend was busy but also a lot of fun. We got to hang out with friends, explore new areas, and start celebrating the holiday season. Plus Bagheera came home! He was discharged Friday night. He has been doing well. He is acting like he did before he got sick. Katniss has calmed down since her brother came home and life returned to normal.  Continue reading A Splashing Good Weekend

The Road To San Diego

If you follow my social media at all, you know that this move has been insanely chaotic. We were suppose to be out here months ago. In fact our entire house in Seymour, IL was packed up on July 15th. At the time we were planning on staying in a hotel for a week until Jeremy checked out of his command. A few days after the movers came, we found out that Jeremy wouldn’t be able to check out as planned because there was an issue with his re-enlistment that hadn’t been approved yet. Raggedy Robins Cookie Recipe

One of my favorite things to do around the holidays is to bake. Whether its cookies or bread, I’m happy pattering around the kitchen. One recipe I make sure to make every year without fail is my mom’s Raggedy Robins. I remember helping making these cookies as a young child. It’s a fun, easy no bake cookie recipe that I have used often with my charges when I was nanny. The smell of chocolate mixing with peanut butter on the stove just makes me feel festive and cozy.
