If you follow my social media at all, you know that this move has been insanely chaotic. We were suppose to be out here months ago. In fact our entire house in Seymour, IL was packed up on July 15th. At the time we were planning on staying in a hotel for a week until Jeremy checked out of his command. A few days after the movers came, we found out that Jeremy wouldn’t be able to check out as planned because there was an issue with his re-enlistment that hadn’t been approved yet. One of my favorite things to do around the holidays is to bake. Whether its cookies or bread, I’m happy pattering around the kitchen. One recipe I make sure to make every year without fail is my mom’s Raggedy Robins. I remember helping making these cookies as a young child. It’s a fun, easy no bake cookie recipe that I have used often with my charges when I was nanny. The smell of chocolate mixing with peanut butter on the stove just makes me feel festive and cozy. This week on the blog we will be diving into some creepy stories and legends from Oregon. Oregon is such a gorgeous state. I would love to visit it some day. In the meantime I will settle for some spooky stories. I know I normally give y’all a few links from previous posts talking about the state that is being talked about during the week but I have yet to write about places in Oregon! Oops. Well, I guess I will be remedying that this week. Continue reading This Week’s Theme: Oregon
Well… Greetings from Illinois. Yeah. We are back in Illinois. You are probably just as shock as we were when we found out we had to head back here. To be honest, I am still trying to process my emotions and feelings about this change of events, but I am trying to find the silver lining. Continue reading Are We There Yet?
It’s crazy how life works sometimes. So much has happened since my last post. I know it’s been a while since my last post. I took a break for a couple of reasons that I had mentioned in that post. The initial reason was so I could heal from my surgery. After that, I needed to focus on our move to San Diego. Continue reading Life Has Been Crazy…
I have sat down so many times to start this post, and I either have too many thoughts in my head to write coherently, or something pulls me away from my computer. I feel like I am being pulled in so many directions at once, just trying to get everything done. I’m trying to get things done, but lately, it seems like no matter what I get done, my to-do list is getting longer and longer. Continue reading Becoming A Butterfly
Things have been busy in the Stillwagon household. Our furniture shipment should finally arrive next week. Well… part of it at least. Crates 1 through 4 and crate 7 have arrived. Hoping crates 5 and 6 decided to show up in time to be delivered the same day. Then a few days after that I am heading to North Carolina! Continue reading Little Updates Happening
We are still setting up our house. We finally got a few more pieces of furniture for the house but it’s still 85% empty. A few more weeks and our main shipment should be here. We received our express shipment (which is half of kitchen stuff) last week. I have no idea where we are going to put everything. We have a lot less kitchen storage areas as we did in Iwakuni. We will make it work somehow though. We always do. Continue reading Now Back To Our Regularly Scheduled Content!
Greetings from Illinois! We are officially living in our house. Well, trying to. LOL So far, we only have a bed for furniture. It will be a long six weeks waiting for our stuff to come in. I can’t wait to make this place a home. We spent the first week here at a hotel. It was nice, and I miss the breakfast options. Continue reading Settling In To Our New Home
Of course, though, when I show pictures of the house that we are moving into, my friends come through with responses like “How do you always find houses that look haunted?” or “I hope it’s haunted,”. I didn’t ask if it was haunted. Even if it isn’t haunted, we are bringing Al and Rampu. Plus, I hope my dad comes to visit occasionally. Continue reading Preparing The Spirits For Our Move
