The Road To San Diego

If you follow my social media at all, you know that this move has been insanely chaotic. We were suppose to be out here months ago. In fact our entire house in Seymour, IL was packed up on July 15th. At the time we were planning on staying in a hotel for a week until Jeremy checked out of his command. A few days after the movers came, we found out that Jeremy wouldn’t be able to check out as planned because there was an issue with his re-enlistment that hadn’t been approved yet. Raggedy Robins Cookie Recipe

One of my favorite things to do around the holidays is to bake. Whether its cookies or bread, I’m happy pattering around the kitchen. One recipe I make sure to make every year without fail is my mom’s Raggedy Robins. I remember helping making these cookies as a young child. It’s a fun, easy no bake cookie recipe that I have used often with my charges when I was nanny. The smell of chocolate mixing with peanut butter on the stove just makes me feel festive and cozy. Now Back To Our Regularly Scheduled Content!

We are still setting up our house. We finally got a few more pieces of furniture for the house but it’s still 85% empty. A few more weeks and our main shipment should be here. We received our express shipment (which is half of kitchen stuff) last week. I have no idea where we are going to put everything. We have a lot less kitchen storage areas as we did in Iwakuni. Of course, though, when I show pictures of the house that we are moving into, my friends come through with responses like “How do you always find houses that look haunted?” or “I hope it’s haunted,”.
